Undercooked bottom

  • Using your method, the top cooks far faster than the bottom. I have undercooked bottom crust.....thoughts?

  • This happened to me too, I just finished it on a cast iron skillet. I would love to find a better solution...

  • I’ve got the same problem as well! Top chars up nicely but starts to burn before the bottom is fully cooked. Perhaps it’s a dough issue?

  • I have gotten a nice crispy bottom on a thin crust style pizza by switching the oven from broil to bake @550 just after placing the pizza in the oven. Cook for 6-7 minutes.

  • Same here, undercooked bottom.

  • Late response. But better late than never. Pre-heat the shelf for longer. The longer you pre-heat the shelf, the hotter it'll get. Meaning the quicker the bottom will bake. I preheated the oven for an hour before I switched it to broil. The bottom was perfect!

  • I preheat the oven for 20-25 minutes at its highest setting, the finish off preheat via the broiler for 10 minutes. If the bottom is under cooked it is due to the oven temp side being too cold to start with, as mentioned above extend the oven preheat time at its maximum setting.
